Computing in Biology

I co-founded and taught a peer-led working group on computational biology in collaboration with April Wright and the Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (CCBB) at University of Texas at Austin. The course takes students through basic Unix and Python, and then recruits guest speakers to talk about how they use programming in their research. All the materials are freely available here and here. The course is currently taught by Stephanie Spielman and Rebecca Tarvin.

I have also assisted the molecular evolution workshop at Woods Hole a few times. If you’re interested in learning about molecular evolution, I highly recommend this one-of-a-kind course
